The Anxious Generation   by Jonathan Haidt

The Peacham School Board invites you to join them for an important discussion. A growing body of research is sounding the alarm about the impact of screen time and social media on kids’ mental health. In The Anxious Generation, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt explores the connection between increased screen use and the sharp rise in anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges among children and adolescents. His findings are compelling and timely, and we believe they are relevant to all of us raising and supporting young people today.

Life is busy, and reading an entire book may not be possible for everyone. If you’re short on time, we recommend focusing on Chapters 1, 5, 11, and 12, which provide a powerful overview of the core themes and recommendations. This event is an opportunity to come together as a community to reflect, ask questions, and support each other in navigating these challenges.

Copies of the book are available to borrow at the library. Can’t make it during open hours? We can leave a copy available for pick up anytime! This title is also available as an eBook or audiobook through the Libby app.
