Your Libby loan period – PLEASE CHANGE TO 14 DAYS!
Did you know that you can change your Libby loan period?
Once you change your loan period when borrowing, it becomes your default loan period.
Changing your loan period –
You can change your loan period for each title when you borrow or renew it. Loan periods may vary by format.
When you borrow or renew a title, tap the loan period on the confirmation screen. Then, select a new loan period for that title.
When you pick a new loan period, it becomes your default loan period for future checkouts in that format at that library.
Instructions for how to do this
Why does that matter to you? It’s more convenient for you!
Why does that matter to us? We have a small collection of some titles which are immediately available only to Peacham patrons. We pay for those per checkout, so if you renew once that’s 2 (7 days) x $9.50 vs 1 (14 days) x $9.50. We have a limited budget to spend on eBooks and audiobooks each month, so unnecessary renewals might mean that the next book you want will not be available.
Here’s a hint to keep in mind – if there’s no waiting for your title the first time you check it out, even if you loan lapses, when you go to check it out again there will be no wait.
If you have to wait for a title, that means it is not a reserved copy for “Peacham only” patrons and you can renew it as often as needed, with no extra cost to the library.
Another Libby bonus is that you can request a title be made available if you don’t see it in the collection or if the wait list is REALLY long. It’s not always possible, but worth the ask!
